River Basin Adaptation Conference – abstract deadline extended!
Nova Gorica, Slovenia, 7-8 March 2017.
Leading experts in climatology, water management and participatory techniques will be speaking at the River Basin Adaptation Conference in Nova Gorica on 7 – 8 March 2017.
Participating speakers include Dr. Lučka Kajfež Bogataj of the University ofLjubljana,climatologist& member of the International Panel on Climate Change, Dr.Ad Jeuken, from Deltares, Netherlands, speaking on adapting water policy and management to climate change, Dr Sebastian Vicuna of the Global Change Research Center, Chile and Dr Marc Parés, of the Institute for Government and Public Policies, Spain, expert in citizen participation and social innovation.
The event, the final conference of the BeWater project, will take place over two days, with Keynote speeches, presentations and interactive sessions on Adaptation of river basin management to global change and Science and society interactions in water management.
Abstracts are invited for either of two sessions: best practice for adaptive management strategies and policy considerations for participatory river basin management. Abstracts should describe experience that may be of use to others: lessons learned; recommendations on best practice; and whether the approach could be transferred to other regions or different contexts. The deadline for submitting abstracts to the River Basin Adaptation conference has been extended till 31 December. Participants have the opportunity to share their own experience on conference themes through targeted oral presentations (5-10 minutes).
